Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced Collection Coming to Switch 2 with New Story Mode

The Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced will feature a new story mode and upgraded visuals for the Nintendo Switch 2, with a paid upgrade pack for current owners.

The upcoming release of the Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced on Nintendo Switch 2 promises to deliver a fresh experience for both newcomers and existing fans. This enhanced collection, set to launch later this year, introduces a new story mode titled "Azure Striker Gunvolt GX," which features a dual-protagonist system with Gunvolt and Copen. This mode emphasizes strategic gameplay, encouraging players to switch between the two characters to effectively utilize their unique weapons and abilities.

Alongside the new story mode, the Switch 2 version boosts the trilogy’s graphical fidelity, supporting higher frame rates and resolutions. Players can expect a more immersive experience, with in-game dialogue that flows seamlessly with the action, complemented by a soundtrack featuring 37 tracks performed by the series' "Muses." While the first two titles will only offer Japanese voiceovers, the overall presentation aims to enhance the gameplay experience.

Inti Creates previously launched the trilogy pack for the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch in July 2025, and the series has been well-received since its original debut on the Nintendo 3DS in 2014. This new edition builds upon the foundation of earlier releases while introducing features that align with modern gaming expectations. The Azure Striker Gunvolt franchise has consistently aimed to blend engaging mechanics with vibrant storytelling, and the enhanced collection seeks to further this legacy.

For players who already own the original Switch version, a paid upgrade pack will be available, allowing access to the new content without needing to purchase the entire collection again. Inti Creates is also considering releasing the new story mode as downloadable content for non-Switch platforms, indicating a desire to expand the game's reach beyond Nintendo’s ecosystem.

A demo of the new story mode is being showcased at the Bit Summit event, giving fans a first look at the enhanced gameplay experience. This initiative not only generates excitement among the community but also demonstrates Inti Creates' commitment to engaging with its audience through events and previews.

The Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced for Switch 2 marks a significant step forward for the franchise, combining nostalgic elements with fresh gameplay mechanics. As gaming continues to evolve, this collection aims to attract a diverse audience, appealing to both veterans of the series and newcomers alike. Expect more details on release timing and pricing as the launch date approaches.
