Lenovo Unveils 11-inch and 13-inch Legion Y900 Gaming Tablets in China

In a move that revives interest in larger gaming tablets, Lenovo has launched the Legion Y900 series, featuring two models with 11.1-inch and 13-inch displays. While the trend has shifted towards smaller, more portable gaming devices, Lenovo’s new offerings cater to those who prefer larger screens for their gaming experiences.

The 11-inch Legion Y900 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9500S chipset, while the larger 13-inch variant utilizes a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. Although these tablets do not match the performance of Lenovo’s latest smaller model, the Legion Tab Y700, they still deliver impressive specifications. Both models feature high-resolution displays at 3840 x 2560, running at a smooth 144Hz refresh rate.

Key Specifications

The Y900 series comes equipped with 8GB to 16GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB or 512GB using UFS 4.1 technology. A notable feature is their substantial battery capacity: the 11-inch model houses an 11,000 mAh battery, while the 13-inch version packs a 12,700 mAh battery. Users can expect RGB lighting on the back and fast charging capabilities via USB-C, enhancing their gaming setup.

A significant addition to these larger tablets is the inclusion of detachable keyboards, a feature not available on the smaller 8.8-inch Legion Tab model. This suggests Lenovo is targeting not just gamers but also those seeking a versatile device that can double as a productivity tool.

Pricing and Availability

The pricing for the new Legion Y900 tablets is set at approximately $450 for the 11-inch model and $560 for the 13-inch version. This pricing strategy places them at a lower price point compared to the 8.8-inch Legion Tab, which retails for $849 in the US. Despite the competitive pricing, there are currently no plans for a global launch, as the tablets are debuting exclusively in China. Lenovo’s previous iterations took time to reach international markets, making the future of these models uncertain.

Alongside the tablets, Lenovo also introduced the Legion Y70 gaming smartphone in China. This device features a 6.8-inch display, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, coupled with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The smartphone includes enhancements tailored for gaming, such as optimized antenna placement and an improved gyroscope for precise motion aiming. The Y70 allows users to connect to a Legion computer to play PC games remotely, offering a unique gameplay experience.

As Lenovo continues to expand its Legion lineup, the introduction of these larger tablets alongside the new smartphone indicates a focus on gamers who appreciate both performance and versatility.
