The Pop-Up Shop at Poco Pelo Chic, located at 627 Eaton St., is a collaboration between local stylist Les Steele and entrepreneurs Angela Kunkel and Elaney Mitova, who aim to provide a stylish shopping experience filled with high-quality finds.

A Unique Fashion Experience

Steele, a well-known hair stylist with over two decades of experience in Key West, has broadened his focus from hair to fashion. He points out that many women often overlook items that could enhance their wardrobes. "There’s a lot of things women wouldn’t even think to try on for themselves, or accessories they would never pair with other things," Steele noted, emphasizing the potential of the curated selections.

The shop features a diverse range of designer items, including clothing, handbags, sunglasses, and shoes. Prices are significantly reduced, with items like a Diane von Furstenberg dress available for just $75. Steele has taken on multiple roles at the shop, serving as stylist, merchandiser, and cashier to ensure that every shopper receives personalized attention.

Kunkel and Mitova have each added their own collections to the shop, featuring sizes from 6 to 14, which makes the store appealing to a wide audience. "I’ve been every size from 6 to 14, so there’s definitely a variety of sizes here," Kunkel explained, underscoring the shop's commitment to inclusivity.

Steele believes that reselling these items not only makes fashion more affordable but also promotes a sustainable approach. "You feel like you’re doing something good for someone by reselling pieces like this for prices more people can afford," he said. The pop-up shop, which operates daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., transitioned from a successful temporary stint in 2024 to a permanent establishment.
